Flashlight #11 – From training towards practical success

From training towards practical success

Dear valuable Reader,

The students of the „Maintenance Engineer“ course just finished a 4 weeks metal processing module where they learned about the different processing techniques using hand tools as well as electrical tools. The highlight in the fourth week was the handcrafting of a manual rice thresher where they could prove what they have learned and how to use these skills in a practical example. While on the first exemplar the teacher gave some pieces of advice, on the second example the students manufactured a fully functioning manual rice thresher by their own!

Congratulations to both, the teacher and the students for achieving this goal!
This is a remarkable recognition that the HELOG Academy module based training will be an excellent preparation for their future jobs. This training concept which geared towards building the individual from nonentity into a service provider or entrepreneur is very important not only to train students their chosen career but to show them the reality about working.
So join hands with HELOG ACADEMY today, to help build the resources for the future Liberian workforce.

START-UP OF THE NEW “MAINTENANCE ENGINEER” COURSE

As HELOG ACADEMY LIBERIA anticipates its second training facility to be completed in the next four weeks, the management is pleased to announce that the next course for “Maintenance Engineers” will officially commence on the 15th August, 2017.

Executing the first course in our school was a challenge as well as a learning process for both the students and for us as management. Teachers and the entire staff realized these exceptional challenges and did their utmost best to manage them day by day.
HELOG is proud to confirm its continued commitment and support to this important initiative. It is our desire that our students one day take the knowledge gained and it’s principles with them, as they jump into the job market to become service providers.
To all interested readers, Friends and partners of ours, please be informed that we still have the space for more students to join the “Maintenance Engineer” course. Flashlight #6 – Article in Bavarian newspaper

Dear valuable Reader,

We are happy to announce that one of the leading newspapers in the state of Bavaria has recently published an article concerning HELOG Academy’s success in implementing elements of the German dual System in Liberia.
Please find the article below.
We apologize that this article comes in German language only but promise that our next newsletter will be fully English again.
We hope that publications like these will generate attention to support groups we cannot reach through our E-Mail and Webpage. It is important to us that the Civil Society is aware of the existence of institutes like ours combining private initiatives as an NGO with the effectiveness of the partners from a business environment. In times where immigration faces overwhelming issues, training of the young generation in developing countries should not remain just as a promise. We do our utmost to meet these challenges and have taken action to implement high standards in technical vocational training in Liberia.
