Flashlight #2 – Donation / Bus purchasing / Train of Trainer

New donation of the State Vocational Training Center Wasserburg a. Inn

Dear valuable Reader,

In July this year HELOG received a generous donation of two fully functioning automobile engines (BMW and Toyota) each mounted on a mobile rack, from the State Vocational Training Center Wasserburg a. Inn / Germany, including an electronic test and diagnosis stand which will enable the students to simulate malfunctions on engines, and to find instructions on how to rectify or repair the problems.

We now have the similar equipment available as it is used in every modern automobile service center. This is another step forward to provide excellent trained engineers to the high skill demanding industry.

Purchase of a second hand school bus in Germany

Those who have already experienced travelling on public transport in Africa may understand the problems our students are faced with on daily basis to reach our campus in time.

To battle this challenge the board of HELOG Academy started a campaign to raise funds for a large second hand shuttle bus.

Our sincere thanks and appreciation to our generous donors from the private business in Liberia, that through their contributions, we could finally buy a bus in Germany and currently prepare it for shipment. It is a MAN A 20 type, 37 seats plus standing for 38 persons.

For the shipping costs we have to start a new funding raising campaign in order to ease the transportation problems of the students, because these costs are in the range of USD 9,000.00!

Anyone who supports us in funding the shipping is welcome!
