Training
A modern workshop just recently has been equipped with the appropriate tooling which enables the students to practice on different solar technologies. Excitingly, an outreach of the training is being in servicing and maintaining systems already installed by GIZ/EnDev in the field.
Fosera, a major supplier and manufacturer of solar home systems based in Germany is providing components to be assembled by the student to learn and understand the technology and assembly techniques. Fosera recently has donated 3 advanced electronic training kits for the HELOG Academy lab to exercise the electric circuits of modern solar components.
This combination of classroom lessons and practical on the job training is part of the HELOG philosophy to implement elements of the Germn Dual System.
Training in agriculture
Since 2019, HELOG Academy has focused on technical training in agriculture, with an emphasis on training farmers in rural areas, including those groups that are illiterate. In a cooperation with MedLife Liberia Inc., it has been possible to carry out training courses for different groups of farmers in 5 large projects with the aim of promoting the necessary mechanization.
