HELOG Academy and Mercy Corps International signed MOU and cooperate in Vocational Training

HELOG Academy e. V. Liberia is pleased to sign an MOU with Mercy Corps a Humanitarian International NGO in Liberia. The Renewable Energy Light up Liberia collaborative project will last till 2019. HELOG will develop the renewable energy curriculum while Mercy Corps monitor and supervise from start to finish. This curriculum will be used for national purpose on future Renewable energy project. We are proud to be part of a process for national development especially providing instructors for the Trainers of Trainers, making sure that the renewable Energy be a standalone program at our Academy and help in the renewable Energy development by providing a representative for the curriculum development along with BWI a state own TVET institution. Lighting up Liberia especially the rural communities will be prioritized.

Developing competence in Renewable Energies

Helog Academy Liberia will be boosting the good future of Renewable Energy in Liberia along with GIZ/ EnDev.

GIZ/EnDev has been active in Liberia for many years and has successfully established network with major stakeholders to promote the usefulness of Renewable Energy Technology.  Helog Academy Liberia trained graduates of six students participated in an introductory course in maintenance and servicing of Solar systems at the GIZ facility in Monrovia as a sign of continue cooperation in the years to come. We look forward to more innovative courses by next year through cooperation with GIZ/EnDev.

Excitingly, an outreach of the job is being planned and GIZ/EnDev is committed to providing transport to facilitate the movement of these young engineers from Helog Academy to execute their duties in servicing and maintaining those systems already installed by GIZ/EnDev in the field. Interestingly, part of these activities include the development of Curriculums and training of Trainers (TOT) in accordance with the MOU signed with Mercy Corps.
